July
2015
From June 29th to July 3rd I attended the 35th IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (ICDCS 2015) in Columbus, Ohio. The last flight from Toronto to Columbus was an Air Canada flight on a Bombardier Dash 8-100 Machine. I have never – ever – felt so uncomfortabe!
At the conference, I presented our recent results on diffusion based load balancing. Our paper (On Discrete Load Balancing in Heterogeneous Networks with a Focus on Second-Order Diffusion) can be obtained from arXiv. The presentation slides are also available online!

The presentation slides I used in my talk are available online and the paper can be found on arXiv.
Travel and Hotel
I had a pleasant flight since I managed to get a seat with lots of space for my legs. The hotel was nice with friendly staff and good breakfast.
